This week, a study released by Mortgage Choice revealed that Australians are confident about their finances. This optimism is said to be due to a succession of positive economic data. Property prices are also climbing at a steady rate.

• Peter Sarmas consulted property expects who attended a number of auctions in order to gauge the strength of the property market.
