Over the recent week in property news there has been much debate about the current state of the property market, as well as the future ahead. On one side of the argument we have predictions that the market will continue to grow steadily.

• Catherine Cashmore discusses claims that we are in the “mother of all dwelling booms”, as warned by Robert Gottliebsen in Business Spectator last week.
• Pete Wargent on the other hand explains why media reports of an Australian property “boom” should be viewed with caution.
• Despite another week of successful clearance rates, evidence suggests a lack of affordable housing is still having a negative impact on many Australians.
• For local news, buyer’s advocate Cate Bakos took a look at the best street in Spotswood.
