Rowville is a sedate suburb in Melbourne's south-east. The area has developed rapidly over the last twenty years and is home to over 30,000 residents, but remains surrounded by natural parkland, lakes and mountains.

Stud Park Shopping Centre contains a Coles supermarket, a Woolworths, Kmart and the Rowville Library. The Stringybark Festival, Australia's longest running sustainability festival, is held there every October. Wellington Village and Rowville Lakes are smaller shopping centres in the area, and both contain a variety of specialty stores.

There is one high school, Rowville Secondary College, which is split across two campuses. There are also four primary schools and one Catholic primary school, St Simons the Apostle Primary School. There is no train station and residents rely heavily on cars for transport. However, there are SmartBus routes connecting Rowville to Caulfield, Huntingdale Station, Ringwood and Frankston. EastLink and the Monash Freeway are also nearby, allowing commuters to travel conveniently into the city or out to other suburban areas.
