Nestled between Hoppers Crossing and Laverton, Williams Landing is located thirty minutes south-west of the Melbourne CBD. The suburb was formed in 2008 after a split from Laverton, in order to further distinguish the area and its new developments. Williams Landing is due for completion in 2025, and it will provide Melbourne with a new transit-oriented development not far from the CBD.
The Wyndham Waters estate comprises over 1,000 homes. While the Williams Landing estate is currently under development, it is expected to be home to many parks and conservation areas. There are also plans to build a train station on the Werribee line, which would be opened in 2013.
Neighbouring suburbs, in particular Laverton and Hoppers Crossing, have a number of primary and secondary schools for Williams Landing residents to choose from, including Westbourne Grammar School in Truganina, a highly reputable Prep to Year 12 private school.
