rosebud Suburb Profile & Review

Rosebud can be found between Dromana and Rye, along the Port Philip Bay coastline of the Mornington Peninsula. The town is located just an hour and fifteen minutes from Melbourne via the Monash and EastLink motorways. It is a highly popular spot during the summer months, and vacationers flock to its clear waters and pristine sandy beaches.

A number of markets are scheduled on the weekends, and these are popular with tourists and locals alike. They are largely craft and vintage focused, but many farmers sell their fresh produce as well. For those who want to be more proactive with their food foraging, the Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm allows visitors to pick their own selection of fruit right off the plant.

There are three public bus routes that service the area, including route 788, which travels from Portsea to Frankston via many coastal townships. Rosebud has its own primary and secondary schools. Padua College, a Catholic secondary school, has a years 7-10 campus in Rosebud. Year 11 and 12 students attend the Mornington Campus.

rosebud Income & Mortgage Stats

To calculate the percentage of income paid towards a mortgage for the suburb of Melbourne, multiply the mortgage payment (e.g. $2450) by 12 then divide this figure by the weekly income (e.g. $1200) multiplied by 52 (weeks) to look like this ($2450 x12/$1200 x 52) x 100 = 47%

Any figure above 30% usually indicates that the suburb you intend to buy in may have property owners with a high incidence of mortgage stress. In terms of maintaining or growing property values in the future and trying to secure a strong property price when selling, this could have an impact, especially in an economic or local industry downturn.
