Pearcedale was once known as Langwarrin, before a settlement near the original railway station claimed that title and it was renamed. Today, Pearcedale is a small town known for its horses and flower farms. It is located on the Mornington Peninsula, approximately one hour from Melbourne's city centre. Those travelling into the city do so via the Monash Freeway or EastLink.
Pearcedale Primary School is home to a respected deaf facility, which welcomes hearing impaired students from surrounding regional areas. A shopping precinct at the corner of Baxter-Tooradin Road and Ellwood Drive features cafes and takeaway shops. Other shopping can be found in bustling Frankston, which is less than twenty minutes away by car.
Families visit the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, a popular tourist destination that offers day and night wildlife tours. Beaches at Warneet and Blind Bight are also incredibly close for watersports and fishing. The Pearcedale Farmers' Market, full of organic fruit and vegetables, local cheeses and local herbs, is held on the third Saturday of every month next to the Pearcedale Recreation Reserve.
