nunawading Suburb Profile & Review

Nunawading is famous for its 'Mega Mile' the largest retail strip for bulk-goods in the state. The strip, located on Whitehorse Road, includes furniture and whitegoods retailers, car dealerships and superstores for major retailers such as Officeworks and Bunnings. If this selection of stores doesn't cater to residents' needs, Forest Hill Chase is just a five minute drive down Springvale Road.

Along the Eastern Freeway, it takes half an hour to reach the city. In the heart of the suburb is Nunawading Station, which was only reopened in 2010. Trains operate on the Belgrave and Lilydale line, whisking passengers into the city in as little half an hour. A number of bus routes also service the suburb.

Nunawading Christian College is a reputable co-educational school with primary and secondary campuses in the area, and Mount Pleasant Primary is located to the south-east.

nunawading Income & Mortgage Stats

To calculate the percentage of income paid towards a mortgage for the suburb of Melbourne, multiply the mortgage payment (e.g. $2450) by 12 then divide this figure by the weekly income (e.g. $1200) multiplied by 52 (weeks) to look like this ($2450 x12/$1200 x 52) x 100 = 47%

Any figure above 30% usually indicates that the suburb you intend to buy in may have property owners with a high incidence of mortgage stress. In terms of maintaining or growing property values in the future and trying to secure a strong property price when selling, this could have an impact, especially in an economic or local industry downturn.
