Meadow Heights is a quiet residential suburb nestled between Broadmeadows and Roxburgh Park. It is home a large Turkish-Australian community and it is estimated that almost a quarter of residents are Turkish.

Bethal Primary School and Meadow Heights Primary School and are located within Meadow Heights itself, while Aitken College is a P-12 independent co-ed Uniting school situated in nearby Greenvale and Kolbe Catholic College is a co-ed secondary school found in Greenvale Lakes. Both are only a ten minute drive from Meadow Heights. The suburb caters to young people living in the area with a skate park, a number of sporting fields and clubs and a bike trail.

There is a shopping centre located on Hudson Circuit and Paringa Boulevard, which has a Supa IGA, an Aldi supermarket and over thirty specialty stores. Five bus routes travel through the area, including a NightRider service, while Coolaroo and Roxburgh Park stations are just outside the suburb's confines. Both are on the Craigieburn line and trains take roughly half an hour to reach the city.
