caulfield Suburb Profile & Review

Situated just 9km from the city, Caulfield is largely a Jewish enclave, with the highest Jewish population in Melbourne. There are many synagogues and kosher shops in the area and, as such, properties are highly sought after. It is a close to other affluent suburbs like Malvern and Glen Iris.

Caulfield Racecourse hosts about twenty race days each season, including the prestigious Caulfield Cup. Caulfield Grammar School is among the best schools in Victoria. It is also the second largest, with almost 3000 students located over three campuses around Melbourne. Monash University has a campus in Caulfield, which hosts about 13,000 students. Caulfield Park is great place for a bit of time out, and its sports fields are used by students and clubs alike.

Though Caulfield is a quiet suburb and there isn't much night-life, St Kilda and Chapel Street are not far away. It is one of the most accessible suburbs by public transport, and two train stations and three tram lines service the area. Despite the variety of housing styles, Caulfield still retains its homely feel, withstanding the push for housing development in recent years.
