Wyndham Vale is rapidly expanding due to the Manor Lakes housing development in the suburb's north. Manor Lakes is designed to house over 25,000 residents, and as such there are further developments planned for facilities in the area.

Most residents shop at the Manor Lakes Central Shopping Centre on Ballan Road, though there is also Wyndham Vale Sqaure to the south of the suburb. For more serious retail requirements, Werribee's many retail stores, cafes and restaurants are less than ten minutes away.

Manor Lakes College is a Prep to Year 12 public school located on Minindee Road. Our Lady of the Southern Cross Catholic Primary School caters for up to 150 students and feeds into MacKillop Secondary College in Werribee. There are several bus routes servicing the area, and most travel to Hoppers Crossing, Laverton or Werribee, where passengers can catch a train into the city if required. There are plans to build a train station at Manor Lakes as part of the government's Regional Rail Link project, which would be a considerable boon for the local commuter population.
