Walter Ortner

For Walter Ortner, real estate is all about the ongoing relationships he forms with his clients. “I’m very loyal by nature, so I really go all out to give every assistance possible to my vendors.” It’s an approach that’s served him well in his 26 years in the business and one he’s continued to pursue since he became of Director of hockingstuart Ivanhoe in 2003.

For Walter, Banyule is an idyllic neighbourhood in which to live and work. “It’s quiet, peaceful and it’s safe,” says Walter. “And you have so many facilities conveniently close. But ultimately it’s the people who make the area great. I’m involved with the View Bank Tennis Club and we share a great sense of community.”

Walter has seen a lot of changes in the course of his long career. But he believes that the innovations made by hockingstuart are some of the most significant of all. “The introduction of the First Alert system has really changed how we get the properties to our buyers.
