Westpac Economic Update: 17 July 2015

 

Westpac Senior Economist Elliot Clarke comments on this weeks markets events with a primary focus offshore, Greece deal passes Parliament, China’s Q2 GDP result, and Chair Yellen’s report to the U.S. Congress. Meanwhile onshore, the Consumer Sentiment Index takes a decline, highlighting households are concerned about family finances, employment prospects, and general state of the economy. Next week will be focusing on CPI, expecting a headline outcome of 1% for the second quarter.
